Empowering the people of Oceania, one story and one tribe at a time.

What is DNA?

DNA is a leading Pacific Indigenous diversity and wellbeing social enterprise. We provide learning and publishing solutions, interactive workshops and events, tailored resources and expert advice on creating effective diversity and wellbeing programs in schools, workplaces and communities across Australia and the Oceania region.

Who are we?

DNA was founded by Bernie Goulding, a Fijian Australian Nurse, Educator and Aurthor with paternal links to Tonga and Samoa. She assembled the DNA storytelling team, who together, have more than 25 years lived experience in international and community development programs in health, safety, wellbeing, human resources, human rights, disability, lifesaving, nursing and workplace training. Our artists, educators, storytellers and creative writers are young, old and in between, but all are committed to a world where people of all colours thrive.

What is our mission?

We are committed to ‘empowering the People of Oceania, one story and one tribe at a time.’

Our goal is ‘to reach 1000 islands, share 1000 stories, across 24 nations, in 24 languages.’

At DNA, we have five core values underpinning everything we do: Security, Belonging, Identity, Purpose and Wellbeing. We create safe spaces to tell the truth about our history, beliefs, trauma and develop strategies and action plans to move forward together.

What do we do?

  • We promote genuine and practical diversity, equity and inclusion to create connections and communities

  • We promote individual, team and community wellbeing using DNA’s wellbeing framework and resources

  • We collaborate with regional wellbeing and diversity industry experts

  • We protect and promote Oceania languages, history and culture

  • We partner with other Indigenous communities to share learning and opportunities

  • We share 50% of all sales profits with Oceania community partners in Fiji, Timor Leste, Papua New Guinea and Australia.
